Grillcube makes for easy charcoal lighting

created at: 04/27/2012

Charcoal grilling would be THE way to darken meat, if not for a few drawbacks. It takes longer to get going. It's messier. And it sometimes involves inadvertently infusing your dinner with undertones (or overtones) of lighter fluid.

The Grillcube doesn't solve the lengthier waiting time, but it does solve the other two drawbacks. Essentially just a cardboard box filled with hardwood charcoal, the Grillcube lets you get your charcoal burning without the mess, fuss or lighter fluid. Simply light it with the integrated wick, and your charcoal will be ready to grill in about 10 minutes. You could always use a chimney starter, but this looks a little neater and easier to pack on a camping trip.

The Estonian company that makes the Grillcube doesn't list a price yet, but you can read a little more at Grillcube.com.
