It's mid-April and Easter weekend is this week. It's officially spring! One of my favorite ways to celebrate this fact is by visiting national park country and dropping the snowboard and winter shell for hiking boots and shorts.
Well, there isn't a better time to visit a local or not-so-local national park because it's National Park Week, meaning free entry at all of the country's national parks. The week started over the weekend (sorry found this a little late) and runs through next Sunday. So if you've been meaning to take a national park trip, now's about the best time of year for it.
There are several other free days throughout the year. Check the NPS' full list.
