Putting a little more special into the special edition, this one is inspired by Father Everest: Apa Sherpa, the man that's climbed the big one more times than anyone else. 20 to be exact.
The new Core is just like the old Cores what with altimeter, barometer, compass and clock, only with an Everest Edition badge, a signature number and Apa Sherpa's signature on back. Suunto will produce 8,848 (for the meters in Everest), and part of each sale will go to the Apa Sherpa Foundation, which works toward improving educational opportunities in Thame, Nepal.
The Everest Edition goes on sale this month for a retail price of $429.
