I've never done Half Dome, but having seen pictures of it, it reminds me a little of Angel's Landing, with its cable-assisted scrambling at the finish. It's largely because of pictures like the one above that I've been less than interested in trying this classic.
If you've been considering making the Half Dome hike or just wonder what it's all about, the NPS put together a nice 9.5-minute video that provides some tips and warnings. Even if you don't have that much interest in hiking Half Dome, the video offers some great footage of the trip. Before you attempt Half Dome, make sure it's for you.
