Looking more like a dump truck than a Mercedes, this creature is the Mercedes Unimog U 4,000, a burly beast that offers the a mix of luxury and sheer muscle that will appeal to many a camper. Its off-road cred is earned through special suspension, high clearance, AWD and a hydraulic seven-tonne winch up front. The can also reduce tire pressure for driving through sand from the comfort of his seat. As for comforts, the Unimog U 4000 includes a shower, toilet, refrigerator, two-burner stove, 300-liter fresh water tank and 200-liter waste water tank.

The Unimog U4000 is set to go on display at the 2010 Abenteuer & Allrad off-road motor show in Europe. It retails for EUR 248,300 (app. $ 302,000).
