Here's a handy little idea courtesy of designer Kai Malter Roever--a frame pump that doubles as a bike/flashlight. Not only is the tool multi-functional, so is the user. The battery is charged by a dynamo-mechanism that is activated when you pump. So you can simultaneously pump up your tire and charge the flashlight battery. Supposedly, 20 seconds of pumping provides 45 minutes of light. When mounted to the frame, the light can serve as a bike light. While it's still just a concept, it took a design award at Eurobike and has a patent pending. It seems like an excellent solution for anyone that bikes in the evening or night and wants to cut down on the gear lugged around. Hopefully, we'll see it hit market soon. I'd certainly put one of these on my Xmas list. [via Dvice]
