Hey, let’s face it, some people weren’t made for sleeping in a tent. We, because we frequent Uncooped, probably don’t fall into that category. But what if it’s our significant other who balks at the notion of sleeping under the stars? Then what? I say bribe them, and then follow kwiltedlady’s most excellent tips for making camping trips more comfy.
Invest in good sleeping pads or, even better, cots or air mattresses.
Bring your favorite comfy pillow, or buy a similar travel pillow.
Find a battery-operated fan to move the air in a stuffy tent.
Buy a propane stove; they’re much more efficient for cooking than a campfire. Except for roasting marshmallows, of course.
Bring a box of baby wipes or anti-bacterial wipes for water-less clean ups. And don’t forget to dispose of the used wipes properly.
Bring enough clothes for dressing in layers so you can better regulate your comfort.
Invest in fold-able camping chairs. Make sure they’re comfortable for everyone; the chair a short person finds comfortable might be much different from the chair a tall person finds comfortable.
Plan your camp food with an outing to the grocery store. Find precooked or partially cooked items to cut back on the often less appetizing freeze-dried variety.
