120,000 Foot Skydive Attempt

Steve Truglia, a 40 year old stunt man and veteran skydiver, plans to jump out of a hot air balloon that will be hovering 24 miles above the earth. To put this in perspective, only the Space Shuttle gets higher--it punts its rocket boosters at 150,000 feet. According to The Sun, Steve 'will freefall for seven minutes before opening his parachute, and could break the 770mph sound barrier as he hurtles towards the ground. No human has ever traveled at such a speed outside an aircraft — and Steve has no idea how his body will react.' He'll be wearing a pressurized space suit, of course.
