I hardly ever talk politics, because those conversations don't tend to end well, but here's something I'm totally happy to get behind.

This November, I, along with about 37 million other Californians, will get to vote on whether we should tack on and additional $18 to our vehicle license fees, a surcharge that would go towards funding state parks and wildlife refuges.
While I'm never stoked on having to shell out bucks for Uncle Sam, I'm more than down to kick some bucks down for our parks, which are feeling the cash crunch just as much as the rest of us Californians.
An extra $18 a year when registering vehicles is estimated to bring in $500 million for our state parks, which would go a long way to keeping them open and maintained, so if you're a Californian who likes to play outside, think about voting to kick back a few bones for our parks.

Hopefully this'll get passed, because the other initiative that I've recently been backing doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
