Rumor has it that Nepal's telecommunication company will be installing cell phone towers on Mount Everest, allowing climbers to make calls both on the way up and from the very top. It's likely that absentee-parents and ex-significant others around the world can expect a call to the effect: "I'm on the highest point on Earth, what the hell have you been doing with your life!?" It appears that we'll now have to travel even further than the ends of the Earth to escape the incessant check-ins and texts from work and home. via Ubergizmo
