A recently-released flashlight promises to be the brightest single-LED torch in the world. The Neofab Lumen II produces 742 lumens on its brightest setting. The flashlight also has 4 other settings so that you don't have to use all that light just to find the zipper on your sleeping bag. While the flashlight wasn't designed specifically for outdoor use, I'm pretty sure those 742 lumens will come in handy while you're pitching a tent in pitch black.
