Booze in the Backcountry: Platypus PlatyPreserve Wine Preservation System

created on: 10/27/08

The PlatyPreserve Wine Preservation System is a sweet new product designed to carry your wine on any camping or backpacking trip. The BPA-free container holds a full 750 ml bottle of wine and is collapsible, making it much easier to store in a backpack than a clunky bottle. The system was also designed to eliminate oxygen which can ruin your wine, so even if you’re a seasoned wine expert, you’ll enjoy a crisp, fresh taste even weeks after opening. If wine’s not your bag, the PlatyPreserve could carry vodka, scotch or any other preferred, non-carbonated beverage.  I’m sure I’m not alone in stating that any means of getting a little after-hike cocktail out in the backcountry is good news.
